Debbie Hennessey Named NMW AC40 Best Female Artist! Set to Perform with other ‘It’s About Eve’ Artists at American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
Indie artist Debbie Hennessey has been named NMW AC40 Best Female Artist at the annual awards show hosted by radio trade magazine New Music Weekly. Hennessey had been nominated along with artists Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Ellen Vee, Holly, and Clear. “To be nominated along with such amazing women and then to be presented this award is just such a thrill,” said
Hennessey. The NMW Awards were held June 26, 2004 at the famous Key Club Theater in Hollywood, CA.
Last summer the single Midnight To Cinderella, from Hennessey’s debut cd Rustic Heart, went Top 20 on NMW’s AC40 Chart and was in the Top 100 on the Friday Morning Quarterback’s AC Chart. In
the last year and a half she has impressed both the industry and the fans with her unique, powerful voice and her heartfelt, crossover sound. Debbie Hennessey was chosen by the NARAS to be
on the recent 46th Annual Grammy Awards Nominating Ballot 6 times, 4 of those for her vocal performances. The categories were Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Best Country Song and Best Country Album. In February of this year she signed an agreement with MRM Placement to represent songs from Rustic Heart for use films and television shows. On Saturday, July 24, Hennessey and her band will be joining other It’s About Eve artists performing at the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event to be held at Santa Monica City College, Santa Monica, CA. It’s About Eve is an organization dedicated to the support and promotion of Breast Cancer Awareness to young women through the music of independent female artists.
